Selling B.C. Lions won't solve all their problems
October 23 2017
News 1130 sports anchor Rick Dhaliwal joins the hosts of the Starting Lineup to address how the B.C. Lions can start fixing their shortcomings. "You start at the top," says Dhaliwal, who talked with David Braley earlier in the day. The Lions owner points to concussion lawsuits as the hold-up though motivation is to sell and three groups are interested, according to Dhaliwal. "The Canucks are in the mix to buy the Lions, still."

La Canfora: The NFL has a quarterback crisis
October 23 2017
Jason La Canfora with NFL.com joins the hosts of the Starting Lineup to talk about Week 7 and the fact there were three shut outs and the Panthers only managed three points, which adds up the league not meeting "professional grade" sport. But what's really hurting the NFL is its quarterback crisis, which is made worse by another crisis on the offensive line. "I don't know there are eight good quarterbacks in the league right now."

October 23 2017
Bruce Boudreau of the Minnesota Wild calls in to talk with the hosts of the Starting Lineup on SN650 about being a sports fan who cheers for the Yankees and (sometimes) the Browns and then gets to hockey, where his allegiances are squarely to his side. On the state of Mikael Granlund, the coach can't say when the injured centre will return to the Wild lineup. "I assume at one point this week he'll be back, I just don't know which game." He talks Chris Stewart, Zach Parise, Eric Staal and Devan Dubnyk who'll start against the Canucks.

Question for the 'Caps: Does Vancouver know its starting 11?
October 23 2017
Sportsnet soccer analyst Mark Rogers joins the hosts of the Starting Lineup on SN650 to talk about the Whitecaps and one of the big question of the day: Did they blow it? A lackluster finish to the season saw them winless in October and unable to clinch the West in their final three games, but on the road in Portland Sunday, the 'Caps were exposed through the middle with a lack of defensive cohesion and ability to counter-attack. Coming third in the conference is "not a massive failure," but Vancouver will look back with disappointment on the end of the regular season.

First-year head coach Travis Green has done a lot of things right, so is .500 a reasonable expectation this season given his leadership?

Hirsch on Markstrom: "For a big man, a lot goes through him"
October 16 2017
Sportsnet hockey analyst Corey Hirsch talks with the hosts of the Starting Lineup about the Canucks loss to the Ottawa Senators. "There wasn't a lot of positives," he starts. The Sedins need speed on their line and a linemate who will dig up the puck. Derek Dorsett brings upside and so does Derrick Pouliot. With Jacob Markstrom, it will take at least 10 to 15 games to get a full assessment, so "let's not pile on."
