November 14 2017
The hockey analyst joins Andrew Walker and Scott Rintoul on The Program to talk about the negative (and sometimes positive) tone of the media and they're briefly interrupted to announce breaking trade news. Back to the media, certain folks get what they give, including Todd Bertuzzi who set off the discussion earlier on SN650. On Derek Dorsett, he's a sign of the changing NHL and on Evander Kane, he'll draw offers as a trade chip.

Steve Tasker talks NFL playoffs, predicts what teams will prove themselves
November 13 2017
CBS Sports broadcaster Steve Tasker joins Andrew Walker and Scott Rintoul to talk NFL and the many teams suddenly in a very precarious playoff situation. "One or two games at this point makes a big difference," he says since the good teams are starting to separate themselves. The Eagles and Patriots, of course, as well as the Titans, Jags and Rams are sitting more pretty than they were a week ago. The Seahawks are battle-tested and will not get tired of competing.

Friedman on Canucks future with Jim Benning, role for Trevor Linden
November 08 2017

HNIC analyst Elliotte Friedman joins Andrew Walker and Scott Rintoul to talk about the latest 31 Thoughts but first he says about Roy Halladay that the late pitcher was both all business and also a treat to deal with. He weighs in on the hosts' interview with Canucks' owner Francesco Aquilini and agrees a GM should be judged on youth development. His impression is that discussions are likely underway over Jim Benning. "It's not nowheresville."

Francesco Aquilini in studio to talk Canucks, Sedins, Jim Benning and possible return of the NBA
November 07 2017
The owner of the Vancouver Canucks came in for a studio interview with the hosts of The Program, Andrew Walker and Scott Rintoul. Vancouver's 7-5-2 start has been a pleasant surprise for Aquilini, one he says was unexpected around the NHL. Bonus, the hockey has been fun to watch. He talks about meddling (or not), developing youth, adoring the Sedins, and his leadership philosophies. Also, he won't be buying the B.C. Lions but he'd love to see the NBA back in town. Nine-foot doors!

Warren Moon on Seahawks' biggest shortfall: 'Offensive inconsistency'
November 06 2017
The football great and Seahawks colour commentator joins Andrew Walker and Scott Rintoul on Sportsnet 650 to talk about Seattle's close loss to Washington. "The penalties were insurmountable," he says but names something even bigger that is holding back this team this year. It will be a big ask for the Hawks to dispatch the Eagles. Plus, the one time he really lost his cool as an NFLer.

Gregg Zaun on World Series Game 7: 'There is no tomorrow'
November 01 2017

Sportsnet baseball analyst Gregg Zaun joins Andrew Walker and Scott Rintoul on SN650's The Program to preview Game 7 between the Astros and Dodgers in L.A. and why Dave Roberts should silence the analytics experts and let his eyes decide how to manage. Besides, great decisions can blow up on you while questionable choices can work out. "That is the beauty of baseball." The former player is in Vancouver on Friday for a fundraiser in support of the UBC baseball program.
