Francis: Interesting Timing for Henderson Lawsuit

On Thursday Don Henderson, the referee injured by Dennis Wideman, filed a lawsuit against Wideman and the Calgary Flames reportedly for $10.5 million. Eric Francis of Postmedia and Sportsnet joins Rob Kerr on Flames @ Five to discuss what this means for the Flames and where we can expect this to go. The other big story on Thursday came out of Buffalo as the Sabres cleaned house, firing General Manager Tim Murray and Head Coach Dan Bylsma. There is speculation that Flames General Manager Brad Treliving could be approached for the job as his contract is set to expire shortly, and Eric throws water on that fire. They also discuss the Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks series after the Ducks completed the sweep on Wednesday night.

Respect in Sport Parent Program will introduce Recertification

In 2010, Hockey Calgary was the first minor hockey association to introduce a mandatory online Respect in Sport course, requiring at least one parent from each household of hockey-playing children to obtain their Respect in Sport certification. Today Hockey Calgary announced they would introduce a re-certification process for the Respect in Sport Parent Program meaning every 4 years individuals will need to go through the course to be re-certified. Rob Kerr conducted a set of interviews with individuals involved with the Program to find out more. You will hear conversations with Sheldon Kennedy (Co-founder, Respect Group & Lead Director - Sheldone Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre), Wayne McNeil (Co-founder, Respect Group), and Kevin Kobelka (Executive Director, Hockey Calgary)
