CONCORD, N.C. — Rain has washed out all NASCAR activity at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including Friday night’s Xfinity Series race.

Both Sprint Cup practice sessions scheduled for Friday were cancelled because of steady rain from Hurricane Matthew. The rain is expected to last into Saturday, so NASCAR rescheduled the Xfinity race for Sunday morning.

The Sprint Cup race is still scheduled for Saturday night. It is the opening race of the second round in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.

Kevin Harvick will start from the pole.
