Campos in talks with Chandhok
February 26, 2010
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
BARCELONA, Spain -- Campos Meta boss Colin Kolles says Karun Chandhok could be signed to drive for the rookie Formula One team.
Kolles, who is leading the team following last week's restructuring announcement, said the Spanish team was in talks with the India's Chandhok.
Kolles was quoted on Autosport.com as saying Campos was "close to finalizing a deal with him."
Campos already has Bruno Senna, nephew of F1 great Ayrton Senna, as a driver.
Senna's manager and sister Bianca said in an email to the AP "we have a contract with Campos and its completely in force so Bruno should be one of Campos' official drivers for 2010."
Campos is expected to be at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 14 despite not testing in the preseason.
