The Indians are close to sending Jake Westbrook to St. Louis. The deal must be completed by 4 p.m.

Westbrook is 6-7 with a 4.65 ERA in 21 starts. He missed most of the last two years because of Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.

The final hurdle to clear is money. Westbrook has $3.2 million left on his $11 million contract. Westbrook also receives a $2 million bonus if he's traded. The last year of his contract is also protated at $1 million if he's traded.
