MIAMI -- A person familiar with the negotiations says infielder Greg Dobbs has agreed to a two-year contract to remain with the Miami Marlins.
The person confirmed the deal to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Marlins hadn't announced an agreement. The deal will be completed pending a physical.
Dobbs, an eight-year veteran, hit .275 in 134 games for the Marlins last season. He started 84 games at third base and had a career-high 411 at-bats. The left-handed hitter batted .370 as a pinch hitter.
