TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays have signed Dutch pitcher Rick VandenHurk.
The 26-year-old right-hander appeared in four games for Baltimore last season, spending the majority of the season with the Orioles' Triple-A farm team.
In Norfolk, he went 9-13 with a 4.43 ERA in 26 starts, limiting International League hitters to a .239 average.
The six-foot-five 215-pounder has appeared in 46 major league games, including 35 starts over five seasons with Florida and Baltimore, posting an 8-10 record with a 5.97 ERA.
VandenHurk was signed to a non-guaranteed contract. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Jays placed pitcher Alan Farina on the 60-day disabled list.
