Alex Rodriguez loses bet to David Ortiz, wears Red Sox uniform

Hazel Mae gets us set for what should be an ALCS for the ages, as Justin Verlander takes to the mound for Astros against Chris Sale for the Red Sox.

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.

Former New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez donned the uniform of archrival Boston after losing a bet to former Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz.

In an embarrassing moment for Rodriguez — but a hilarious one for fans — the pro-turned-baseball-analyst walked on to the FOX Sports set donning the red and white of his nemesis.

Just as Ortiz was about to spray champagne all over him, Rodriguez showed his true colours in Superman-esque fashion, ripping the Red Sox jersey off and revealing a Yankees T-shirt underneath.

This isn’t the first time Rodriguez has lost a bet over the two teams playing each other, either. After the Red Sox swept the Yankees in a regular season series in August, Rodriguez revealed via Instagram that he placed a bet with actor and famed fan of the Boston baseball club Mark Wahlberg and had to serve at a Wahlburgers restaurant as a result.

Rodriguez hung up the batting gloves a while ago, it may be time to do the same with his betting gloves. Good on him for being a good sport both times, though.
