Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos, joined Greg Brady and Jim Lang Wednesday morning on Sportsnet 590 The Fan to discuss the ongoing fallout from the Yunel Escobar suspension.

During the course of the interview, Anthopoulos revealed Monday’s meeting between Escobar, the team, MLB commissioner Bud Selig and the Players’ Association took place at 11 a.m. in New York and included a “full interview” of the Blue Jays shortstop by the commissioner’s office.

Anthopoulos described the incident as “stupid, selfish, shameful, insensitive,” and added he is not worried about the reaction Escobar might receive when the team returns home on Sept. 27.

“I’m not concerned,” said Anthopoulos. “He made his own bed. I’m not going to feel sorry for him.”
