MINNEAPOLIS — The Houston Astros have put catcher Jason Castro on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quadriceps muscle.

Catcher Max Stassi was recalled from Triple-A Fresno for the game Saturday at Minnesota. Castro was hurt running out a double the night before against the Twins.

Hank Conger will take over behind the plate for the AL West leaders, with Stassi backing him up and designated hitter Evan Gattis the emergency catcher. Manager A.J. Hinch said Stassi was already going to be called up Tuesday when rosters can be expanded.

Star rookie shortstop Carlos Correa was out of the lineup Saturday for the third straight game because of a sore left hamstring. Hinch said Correa was "progressing nicely" but still had enough discomfort to warrant another day off.
