Bichette, Borucki named Blue Jays’ top minor leaguers by MLB Pipeline

Tim and Sid talk about how the Toronto Blue Jays planning on moving on from Jose Bautista and how a positive farewell and likely spot in the ring of honour in the future shouldn't influence him being resigned now.

Toronto Blue Jays prospect Bo Bichette has been named the organization’s Minor League Hitter of the Year by MLB Pipeline, while left-hander Ryan Borucki nabbed the top pitcher honour.

Shortstop Bichette, 19, hit a combined .362/.423/.565 with 14 home runs, 41 doubles and 74 RBIs across two levels of A-ball. The right-handed hitter was drafted by Toronto in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft.

Borucki, selected by the Blue Jays in the 15th round of the 2012 draft, enjoyed a breakout campaign in the minors. He began the season in advanced A-ball, before promotions to double-A and triple-A.

In total, the starting pitcher was 8-8 with a 2.93 ERA over 150.1 innings across the three levels. He struck out 157 batters while walking 36 and could be a valuable depth option for the major league club in 2018.
