Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez took a step forward Tuesday in his recovery from a finger and finger-nail issue that hampered him for most of the 2017 season.

Sanchez’s season ended prematurely due to a sprained tendon and persistent blister issues on his right middle finger.

The 25-year-old was a first time all-star in 2016 when he went 15-2 with an AL-best 3.00 ERA.
