Blue Jays’ Donaldson, Smoak not starting in series finale vs. Red Sox

MLB analyst Jon Paul Morosi searches for Blue Jays’ positives in 2017, giving immense credit to the Toronto fans for still being #1 in a down year, and to the emergence of Justin Smoak.

Toronto Blue Jays stars Josh Donaldson and Justin Smoak will both start on the bench for Wednesday’s series finale against the Boston Red Sox.

Steve Pearce will start at first base for Smoak, while Darwin Barney will take Donaldson’s place at third. Raffy Lopez draws in for Miguel Montero behind the plate.

The Blue Jays are looking to salvage a win from the three-game series after failing to score in Tuesday night’s loss.
