Blue Jays’ Encarnacion, Gibbons ejected from Canada Day contest

Canada Day was not short on fireworks as Edwin Encarnacion got the boot for arguing balls and strikes and may have gotten a chest-bump on the umpire. John Gibbons was also tossed.

The ejections took place in the bottom of the first inning after Encarnacion struck out on a questionable called third strike. Devon Travis took over designated hitter duties.

It was the sixth time Gibbons has been tossed this season, which leads all of MLB.
