Blue Jays’ Osuna not available Friday due to fever

Sportsnet’s Arden Zwelling joined the Jeff Blair show to discuss what the Toronto Blue Jays will do with third baseman Josh Donaldson and quickly touching on Chris Rowley and if he deserves another start.

The Toronto Blue Jays will be without closer Roberto Osuna in Friday’s game against the Chicago Cubs because of a fever.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Osuna is unavailable and right-hander Ryan Tepera would handle ninth-inning duties for the club in the opener of a three-game set against the National League Central-leading Cubs.

Osuna earned a save in Thursday’s 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The right-hander, who sports a 3.12 ERA and 32 saves this season, has pitched on three of the past four days.

Tepera has been a revelation for Toronto’s bullpen this season, posting a 3.23 ERA and 9.4 K/9 rate over 61.1 innings.

The Blue Jays are making their first visit to Wrigley Field since 2005.
