TORONTO — Aaron Loup remained away from the Toronto Blue Jays tending to a family matter Wednesday leaving manager John Gibbons without his sole left-handed reliever for Game 5 of the American League Division Series versus the Texas Rangers.
Gibbons also made the possibility of David Price coming back from his three-inning stint Monday sound unlikely, saying “I’ll be damned” if the club overworks the ace lefty.
He left the door more open to using Marco Estrada if needed while adding Aaron Sanchez and Roberto Osuna could be used for more than an inning if needed.
