Before the rain started today, Jose Reyes got some work in. Like Brandon Morrow, this will be his last day with the Toronto Blue Jays for a while.

I spoke with him in the clubhouse today and Reyes said that he is heading to Florida tomorrow and is scheduled to play in a simulated game either Friday or Saturday.

“After that, if I feel good, we’ll decide what I’ll do next,” said Reyes. “It’s going to be key to see how the ankle is going to respond. Right now I can do everything, but in a game it is different.”

Reyes understands the urgency of a club that is in the basement of the division at 27-36.

“There’s still plenty of time, but we need to turn it around, starting today,” he said. “It’s the middle of June, already. We need to turn it around.”
