The Toronto Blue Jays have traded switch-pitcher Pat Venditte to the Seattle Mariners for a player to be named later.
Venditte appeared in eight games with the Blue Jays this season posting a 5.19 ERA in 8.2 innings, striking out seven and walking four.
The 31-year-old was more successful at the triple-A level with the Buffalo Bisons where he had a 4.37 ERA and a strong 2.62 FIP in 25 innings with an impressive 13.37 K/9.
In his brief major-league career, Venditte has been significantly more effective from the left side holding opponents to a .175/.235/.306 line. Opposing hitters have knocked him around to the tune of a .265/.362/.475 line when he throws right-handed.
