The Toronto Blue Jays now know which pitchers they’ll be facing when they play the New York Yankees in their first series of the season.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi is giving Masahiro Tanaka the opening day start. Michael Pineda will follow Tanaka, then C.C. Sabathia will face the Blue Jays on April 9th to close out the series.
Tanaka started against Toronto in the team’s home opener last year. He’s 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA and 22 strikeouts in three starts versus the Jays.
