The Boston Red Sox are reportedly shopping Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Ken Rosenthal tweeted on Sunday that a rival team executive said the Red Sox have been trying “for weeks” to trade the 27-year-old catcher.
Rosenthal also reported the Red Sox had reached a two-year, $6.2-million deal with veteran catcher David Ross on Saturday, pending a physical with the club.
Saltalamacchia batted .222 with 25 home runs and 59 RBIs in 121 games with the Red Sox last season.
