ATLANTA — Braves right-hander Shae Simmons has undergone Tommy John surgery and is expected to miss the upcoming season.
The team said the surgery was done Thursday by Dr. James Andrews.
The 24-year-old Simmons made his major league debut last season, going 1-2 with one save and a 2.91 ERA in 26 games for Atlanta. He struck out 23 in 21 2-3 innings.
