Brett Anderson was so angry after giving up seven runs in 1 1/3 innings on Wednesday… he could eat a hat.

The lefty got rocked by the Kansas City Royals lineup, with things coming to a head in the second inning after Eric Hosmer hit a two-run double to give the visitors a 7-0 lead.

Manager John Gibbons had enough at that point, removing Anderson in favour of Luis Santos.

Anderson went to the dugout and took out his frustration on his ballcap, ripping it apart in anger – even using his teeth to get the job started.

That hat Anderson destroyed goes for just under $50 at the Blue Jays official store online, and is made with 100 per cent polyester, which gives you an idea of how much force Anderson had to use to be able to tear something so valuable and tough.
