Chapman shares picture of staples in his head

The Cincinnati Reds closer shared a picture on Instagram after his procedure.

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman had surgery Thursday night to repair a broken bone above his eye after being hit with a line drive during a spring training game.

Chapman is expected to begin throwing again in two weeks and could appear in a game within four to six weeks.

The doctor called Chapman “a very lucky guy.”

The Reds fireballer posted a rather graphic picture on Instagram after his procedure that showed a lot of staples in his head.

“He’s feeling better and he has some pain management. We’re optimistic that he is going to be on the mend,” Reds manager Bryan Price told reporters after meeting with players Thursday morning.
