Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo can certainly kick a ball, but his throwing skills need a bit of work.

Ronaldo threw out the ceremonial first pitch Wednesday before the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Yankees game at Dodger Stadium.

The pitch didn’t make it into the strike zone, but if there had been a soccer net behind the catcher it would have been a great goal.

Before the pitch, Ronaldo also took some time to play keep up with rookie sensation Yasiel Puig, as well as taking a few swings in a batting cage and signing some soccer balls for players.

Overall, it was quite a memorable night for Ronaldo and the fans in attendance.

But back to that pitch.

It had some zip, but the Portuguese striker, who has more Twitter followers than any other professional athlete in the world, was a bit high and outside.

A couple weeks ago Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen made headlines after her memorable ceremonial pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game.

Remember this?

Which begs the question…
