Despite just returning after extended stints on the DL, Toronto Blue Jays sluggers Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki will not be in the lineup Saturday, manager John Gibbons said following Toronto’s 7-6 series-opening win against the Texas Rangers.
Donaldson and Tulowitzki missed 38 and 31 games, respectively, and were re-activated from the disabled list Friday. In their returns, Donaldson doubled in his first at-bat back and finished 1-for-4 while Tulowitzki went 1-for-2, drawing two walks and scoring a run.
Toronto plays Texas for the remainder of this weekend as part of a 10-game homestand.
