Even though the Toronto Blue Jays have sent Travis Snider down, that doesn’t mean he’s on his way out according to manager John Farrell.
The morning after optioning the 24-year-old to the triple-A Las Vegas 51s to begin the 2012 season, Farrell told the Jeff Blair Show on Sportsnet 590 it would be wrong to assume Snider is no longer in the team’s plans because he didn’t beat out Eric Thames for the starting left field job.
“At this point in time, we’re not ready to turn the page on Travis Snider and move him elsewhere,” Farrell told Blair Monday.
In response to a question surrounding whether there has been talk of dealing Snider for pitching help, Farrell said, “that’s not been discussed.”

On Travis Snider: I spoke with a couple executives following the outfield market, and they believe #BlueJays are inclined to keep him.
