LOS ANGELES — Giants pitcher Johnny Cueto could miss his next scheduled start because of a groin strain.

The right-hander had an MRI on Wednesday that confirmed a Grade 1 strain, according to manager Bruce Bochy.

Bochy says Cueto could be out up to a week, which leaves the All-Star questionable for next week.

Cueto (17-5) was forced out of his start Tuesday night in the sixth inning because of the injury.

San Francisco is in the thick of the NL wild-card race, and the Giants haven’t finalized contingency plans if Cueto can’t make his next start.
