Gotta See It: Blue Jays’ Dickey hits the skies at air show

Check this out as Blue Jays starting pitcher R.A. Dickey takes a ride with a Canadian International Air Show pilot, doesn't 'barf' and lives to talk about his phenomenal experience in the air.

R.A. Dickey is as low key a professional athlete as you’ll find, but that doesn’t mean all of his off days are spent participating in low key activates.

On Thursday, as the Blue Jays rested prior to their weekend series with the Baltimore Orioles, Dickey took to the skies.

The Toronto Blue Jays knuckleballer is a huge fan of aviation, so Blue Jays VP of Stadium Operations and Security Mario Coutinho coordinated with organizers from the Canadian International Air Show to give Dickey a memorable experience.

“I’ve always had a real love for airplanes, mostly the jets, but when I got offered the opportunity to go up in an aerobatic plane I couldn’t pass it up,” Dickey told Breakfast Television.

Dickey’s next start is scheduled for Tuesday in Boston against the Red Sox where he’ll attempt to earn his 100th career major-league victory.
