It was the punch heard ‘round the baseball world.
Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor’s right cross to the face of Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista is the kind of highlight that will be played until the end of time.
It also seems it’ll be made fun of forever as well.
Case in point, during Thursday night’s game between the Rangers and Cleveland Indians, Odor made a hard slide into second base to try breaking up a double play that was sort of reminiscent of the slide Bautista made that resulted in their fight.
Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis got taken out during the play and when he got up he took on a cautious fighting stance while staring at Odor, then smiled and headed towards his dugout, eliciting a hearty chuckle from Odor and other Rangers.
Clearly, Odor has developed quite the reputation around the league.
