Gotta See It: Yankees’ Aaron Judge chips tooth during celebration

It was all fun and games until Aaron Judge lost a tooth.

The New York Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays thanks to a walk-off home run from Brett Gardner in the 11th inning to cap Thursday’s comeback. A home plate celebration ensued, but ended quickly for Judge as a teammate’s helmet bonked him right in one of his front teeth.

(Apparently, that’s something you’ve gotta watch for when you’re as tall as Judge.)

If you look closely, you can actually see what looks like part of his chiclet flying through the air:

The team confirmed that the tooth was indeed chipped, altering the 25-year-old slugger’s signature grin. They also said Judge will be in the lineup Friday.

Thursday’s win was the Yankees’ fourth straight victory, and you might say they fought, um, tooth and nail for this one. (Sorry.)
