Blue Jays promote Guerrero to triple-A

Vladimir Guerrero is one step close to joining the Toronto Blue Jays.

On Friday the club announced via Twitter that the 37-year-old slugger will join the triple-A Las Vegas 51s in time for Saturday’s home game at against Reno.

In four games with the single-A Dunedin Blue Jays, Guerrero had four home runs, eight RBIs and a line of 450./450/1.100/1.550.

Guerrero — who signed a minor league deal with Toronto on May 10 — hit .290/.317/.416 with 13 homers and 63 RBIs in 145 games with Baltimore in 2011.
