Brett Cecil is back, Anthony Gose is Buffalo bound, and Colby Rasmus is still on the sidelines.

As expected, the Toronto Blue Jays have activated Cecil from the disabled list in time for Friday afternoon’s tilt against the MLB-leading Oakland Athletics. To make room on the roster for the reliever, they’ve sent the 23-year-old Gose back to triple-A.

Gose had been filling in for an injured Rasmus in centre field for the latter part of May and well into June. Rasmus, who returned to the Jays lineup June 18, is out for the second straight game due to a wrist injury.

Cecil’s return brings the Blue Jays bullpen back to seven. He’s been on the DL since June 18 with a groin injury, but has since made a couple relief appearances for the Buffalo Bisons.

Gose has played 44 games with the Jays this season, and has a .333 OBP.
