Blue Jays minor league pitcher Alan Farina has been suspended 50-games after a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, MLB announced Wednesday.
The right-handed pitcher is currently on the roster of the single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.
His suspension will be effective at the start of this season.
The 26-year-old Farina was a third round pick of the Blue Jays in the 2007 amateur draft.
In six minor league seasons, including two as high as double-A New Hampshire, Farina has posted a 3.50 ERA and 1.331 WHIP while averaging 10.2 K/9 and 4.6 BB/9.
