Jose Reyes makes Rockies debut against Cubs

Jose Reyes started his Colorado Rockies career off on a good foot with a solid single in his first at bat. He then got caught stealing.

CHICAGO — Shortstop Jose Reyes made his debut with the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon against the Chicago Cubs and batted second.

The 32-year-old four-time All-Star was acquired along with a package of prospects from Toronto on Tuesday in a trade that sent shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and right-handed reliever LaTroy Hawkins to the Blue Jays.

Reyes didn’t arrive in Chicago until late Tuesday. To make room for him on the roster, the Rockies sent infielder Cristhian Adames to Triple-A Albuquerque.
