The MLB playoff push is our daily look back and ahead at the post-season picture as teams position themselves for October.
Latest on Blue Jays: There is a lot of tension in Toronto entering the weekend after the Blue Jays were shut out 4-0 by the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday.
The Jays still own the top wild-card spot despite the defeat by virtue of the tiebreaker, but now Toronto faces a trying weekend at Fenway Park against the Red Sox as it tries to sew up a post-season berth and a home playoff game.
The Orioles face the already-eliminated New York Yankees on the road to finish their regular season campaign, so it’s going to be a nerve-wracking weekend in the AL East.
