PEORIA, Ariz. — Matt Kemp hit a three-run drive and Justin Upton followed with a home run as the San Diego Padres beat the San Francisco Giants 10-5 Tuesday.
Will Middlebrooks homered in the second inning off Yusmeiro Petit.
Kemp’s homer in the fourth finished Petit, and Upton connected off Brett Bochy. Carlos Quentin homered for the Padres in the sixth.
Middlebrooks had three hits and Upton had two.
Joe Panik homered in the Giants first off Ian Kennedy. Justin Maxwell singled home two more runs in the second.
