It’s only May, but we may have a contender for MLB bobblehead of the year.
Behold the Evan Longoria Game of Thrones bobblehead that the Tampa Bay Rays announced on Thursday.
The figurine features the veteran third baseman sitting on the Iron Throne, which is reserved for the monarchy in the popular HBO series. It will be distributed to the first 15,000 fans before the Rays’ game at Tropicana Field against the Boston Red Sox on July 8.
The Rays are one of several major league clubs to participate in the partnership between the league and Game of Thrones that was announced at the beginning of the season.
The seventh season of the show begins July 16.
Longoria, who’s been with Tampa Bay since entering the league in 2008, has struggled to begin this season, hitting .232/.299/.390 with five home runs and 19 RBIs.
