Red Sox promote Cuban outfielder Castillo

BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox have recalled outfielder Rusney Castillo from Triple-A.

Outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. was optioned to Pawtucket to make room for Castillo on the roster. The Cuban native started in right field in Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels.

It’s Castillo’s first major league stint of the season. He played 10 games for the Red Sox last year, batting .333 with two homers and six RBIs. He was batting .327 in Triple-A this year.

Bradley is 0 for 11 with the Red Sox this year.
