CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Reds have placed catcher Ryan Hanigan on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left side.

Hanigan, who is also dealing with a bruised left thumb, injured his oblique reaching for a high fastball thrown by Aroldis Chapman on Friday night.

Right-hander Nick Masset was moved from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list to open a spot on the 40-man roster for Corky Miller of Triple-A Louisville.
