CINCINNATI — The Reds have put catcher Devin Mesoraco on the 15-day disabled list after an MRI detected a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

It’s the second straight year he has suffered a significant injury. Mesoraco missed most of last season with a hip injury that required surgery.

The Reds have been swamped by injuries.

Shortstop Zack Cozart was out of the lineup Monday night against the San Francisco Giants because his surgically rebuilt right knee was sore. Cozart had surgery last June to repair two torn ligaments and a tendon.

Also, right-handers Homer Bailey and Anthony DeSclafani won’t be allowed to throw for at least a few more days because of setbacks during minor league rehabilitation stints last week.
