The Toronto Blue Jays will tender contracts to all of their arbitration-eligible players except catcher Josh Thole, Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi reported Wednesday.
This means third baseman Josh Donaldson, outfielders Ben Revere and Michael Saunders, first baseman Justin Smoak, right-handers Jesse Chavez, Drew Hutchison and Steve Delabar, and lefties Brett Cecil and Aaron Loup will all be tendered.
Smoak has already agreed to a $3.9-million deal with the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays have officially non-tendered Thole.
Thole has spent his past three seasons with Toronto, mostly as R.A. Dickey’s personal catcher. Last season, his role was more diminished as Russell Martin caught some of the knuckleballer’s starts. In 18 games played last season, Thole batted .204/.250/.245.
