An ownership group fronted by former MLB star Derek Jeter and former U.S. presidential candidate Jeb Bush has agreed to buy the Miami Marlins for $1.3 billion, reports Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

The deal is in principle and is pending approval from the league. The Marlins are being sold by Jeffrey Loria, who has owned the team since 2002.

The 42-year-old Jeter starred for the New York Yankees during his 20-year major-league career and has made his intentions of becoming an owner known in the past.

Bush’s brother, former U.S. president George W. Bush, once owned the Texas Rangers, while his father, ex-president George H.W. Bush, played the sport at Yale University.
