Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes was arrested for domestic abuse in Hawaii after allegedly assaulting his wife on Oct. 31, according to Hawaii News Now.
The 32-year-old hit .274/.310/.378 in 116 games between the Rockies and the Toronto Blue Jays with seven home runs, 53 RBI and 24 stolen bases. Reyes, Jeff Hoffman, Jesus Tinoco and Miguel Castro were dealt to Colorado in exchange for Troy Tulowitzki and LaTroy Hawkins on July 28.
On Aug. 21, MLB and MLBPA announced an agreement on a Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. This is the first reported incident since that announcement.
