Report: Tigers closing in on 2-year deal with Mark Lowe

Reliever Mark Lowe was a valuable asset for Toronto.

After a stellar season with the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays it appears reliever Mark Lowe will land a multi-year contract.

ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick is reporting the 32-year-old right-hander is close to signing a two-year deal with the Detroit Tigers.

Lowe had a bounce-back year in 2015 going 1-3 with a 1.96 ERA with the Mariners and Blue Jays, striking out 61 in 55 innings. The Houston, Texas, native helped solidify Toronto’s bullpen down the stretch and made six appearances in the post-season allowing two earned runs in 4.1 innings and striking out six.
