Multiple teams have expressed interest in New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard and the team is “seriously considering deals for him,” according to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman.

Heyman suggests that the team might seek to fill multiple holes if trade talks advance.

The Mets’ most pressing need for the 2019 season is infield depth, especially at third base.

Syndergaard, who has a history of injuries, spent 59 days on the disabled list last season, according to Roster Resource, because of a hurt index finger and an illness. He was also limited in spring training due to back problems that held him to just seven starts and 30.1 innings in 2017.

He started 25 games in 2018 in spite of the DL stints, and finished the year with a 13-4 record – including one shutout – 3.03 ERA and nine strikeouts per nine innings while working 154.1 total frames.

The power righty was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the 2010 draft. He was traded to the Mets, along with catcher Travis d’Arnaud, catcher John Buck and outfielder Wuilmer Becerra for knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, and catchers Josh Thole and Mike Nickeas in December of 2012.
