It appears as if the Boston Red Sox are on the verge of making Dustin Pedroia the highest paid second baseman in the MLB.
According to a report by Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, the 29-year-old Pedroia and the Red Sox are engaged in talks on a contract extension that would surpass $100 million.

The 2007 AL MVP still has a year left at $10 million on his current deal and if the speculated contract comes to forwishen, the native of California would make roughly $20 million a season with a length of five or six years.
Pedroia, a four-time all-star, is batting .316 on the season with six home runs and 56 runs batted in for AL East leading Red Sox.
