The Giancarlo Stanton rumours continue to pile in, with the latest reports suggesting the New York Yankees are making a push for the Miami Marlins‘ superstar.

Several reports confirm the two teams are involved in discussions, but a deal is “not close” and the pieces to the puzzle remain unclear.

Jon Morosi of Fox Sports says one name that has surfaced in trade talks is Yankees second baseman Starlin Castro.

Morosi adds that since the Yankees have gained significant momentum in trade discussions, the time for the Dodgers to intensify talks is now.

The St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants announced they were out of the running for the National League MVP earlier on Friday.
