DENVER — The Colorado Rockies have placed outfielder Michael Cuddyer on the disabled list with a strained left hamstring, and they have activated right-hander Christian Bergman.

Bergman will start Sunday against Miami after missing 51 games with a broken left hand. His last start was June 20 against Milwaukee.

The team also transferred Carlos Gonzalez (knee) to the 60-day DL.

This has been a frustrating season for Cuddyer, who’s making his third trip to the DL this season. The NL batting champion also was out with a strained left hamstring and missed more than two months with a fractured left shoulder.

The 35-year-old Cuddyer has played in 34 games and is hitting .331. He became the seventh Colorado player to hit for the cycle, on Aug. 17 against Cincinnati.
