Toronto Blue Jays reliever Sergio Santos will be held out of Grapefruit League action until Saturday with a sore right triceps muscle.
Santos felt discomfort after pitching one inning against the Philadelphia Phillies on Mar. 3.
According to the team’s official website, he was originally scheduled to pitch Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles but the Blue Jays have decided to give him some additional days to rest.
Sportsnet’s Michael Grange spoke to Santos Tuesday in Dunedin the 29-year-old said he was undergoing an MRI, but he is not worried about any long-term ramifications.

On Tuesday, Blue Jays manager John Gibbons told reporters he is not overly concerned about Santos.
“Nothing yet that we’re too alarmed about, because there’s still so much spring left,” said Blue Jays manager John Gibbons.
While the injury appears to be minor, the Blue Jays have to keep a close eye on the health of Santos after he missed the majority of the 2012 season with a shoulder injury.
Casey Janssen, the team’s projected closer, had off-season shoulder surgery and has yet to face live hitters in Spring Training.
Thus far this spring, Santos has been impressive in three Grapefruit League appearances.
